I read somewhere that only about 35% of the people polsters call are willing to answer the poll. Is it possible that people are more willing to answer a poll if the person they support is behind in the published polls? If so, then this is a negative feedback mechansism that will always push all polls (even candidates' internal polls) toward the center.
